In my history of photography class my professor brought in some Dequerreotype and Ambrotype photos, that he has purchased, also some of his ancestors. I have to say they are pretty cool. Very interesting. I personally perfer the Dequerreotype over the Ambrotype.

  1. These processes are definitely very cool. Once when I was at the Getty Museum I stumbled across a daguerreotype of Edgar Allan Poe! What an interesting find that was! And I was so excited because by then I had an understanding of the process and therefore felt like I had a better understanding of the history and time period that Edgar Allan Poe had lived in. It is so cool how the history of photography can inform so many other things.
